About this experience
I’m Manni — a Calgary‑born rapper and creative instructor. This guided walking tour offers an authentic look at the evolution of Calgary’s hip‑hop culture, all within a compact downtown loop. Over the course of approximately 60–75 minutes, with light walking between stops, we’ll explore the places where early cyphers emerged, where rap entered formal arts spaces, where graffiti shaped the city’s visual identity, and where major artists helped elevate Calgary’s presence on the national stage.
Our route moves from Olympic Plaza to Arts Commons, through Stephen Avenue’s street art alleys, past The Palace Theatre, and concludes at the Galleria Trees — a modern gathering point for today’s creators. Throughout the tour, I’ll share stories from the scene, explain core elements of rap such as flow and cadence, and highlight how each location influenced my own artistic journey.
